Bob Maryott has been around the fishing and machining industry virtually all his life. Born and raised in Anacortes, he has seen the needs of the locals, as well as the visitors, and has helped many be either working for them and with them. With over 35 years of experience under his belt, Bob has been involved in building boats as small as wooden rowboats to steel tractor tugs and Washington State Ferries. Bob started fishing in 1964 for king crab in the Bering Sea aboard a 75’ wooden sardine boat. He has also worked as a deckhand, engineer and even captain/owner of his own vessels, during seasons of salmon, bottom fish and crab. In the late 1960’s Bob first learned the art of shaft making at Bryant’s Marina. From 1994 to 2001, Bob worked at Cap Sante Marine as the head machinist and at Dakota Creek Industries as an inside machinest.
Jan Maryott has been involved with computerized accounting since 1980. She also fished for 7-1/2 years in Southeast Alaska, Central Puget Sound and the Bering Sea. She now creates the metal artwork and signage as well running the office, errands, & various things in the shop.
